If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.— Ignacio Estrada
Mission Statement
A different way to learn,
a different way to thrive.
At Reframe Learning, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive, whatever their journey to get there. Some children learn best when education looks and feels different. For those children, the kitchen can be the most powerful classroom of all.
We offer both individual and small group sessions, adapting the environment to what works best for each child. Every session is shaped by each child's needs, their strengths, their pace and what makes them feel safe enough to try.
We take time to understand what matters to them, because when children feel truly seen, real progress becomes possible. That is the foundation we build their future on.
"The kitchen can be the most powerful classroom of all."
Our Three Pillars
What every session
is built on.
Each session weaves together curriculum, life skills and a genuinely nurturing environment — because children need all three to truly thrive.
Curriculum Access
Our sessions draw on Numeracy, Literacy and Science through creative cooking sessions. Children weigh and measure, read and discuss recipes, and observe science in action as ingredients change and combine. Children engage with ideas and concepts in a way that feels accessible rather than formal.
Life Skills & Creativity
Beyond the curriculum, cooking teaches children skills they will carry for life. From measuring ingredients to planning a meal, children build practical life skills, creative thinking and problem-solving abilities that last long beyond the kitchen. Every session builds independence, confidence and a sense of achievement.
A Nurturing Space to Thrive
We know that before a child can learn, they need to feel safe. Every session is built on a foundation of trust, consistency and person-centred care. We take time to build trusting relationships because it is often the connection, not just the curriculum, that makes the real difference. Children feel seen, heard and valued.
Who We Support
Supporting children who need
a different path.
We work with primary-aged children (KS1 and KS2) who are on EOTAS packages and would benefit from provision beyond the traditional classroom.
Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
Each session is centred on the child, providing them with the consistency, patience, and individual attention they require to settle and develop.
School-based anxiety or refusal
Our small, predictable and nurturing environment helps children feel safe enough to re-engage with learning at their own pace.
Sensory or emotional regulation needs
Our practical, cooking-focused sessions offer a multi-sensory learning experience that supports each child's strengths rather than working against them.
A waiting period for a specialist placement
Those in a transitional phase who require continuity in learning and a sense of stability while longer-term provision is arranged.
An EHCP
Children whose plan specifies the need for a bespoke, alternative approach to their education.
A breakdown in their previous school placement
We work closely with Local Authorities and families to understand each child's history and ensure their time with us is a positive, purposeful step forward.
Children come to us with different needs, different stories and different strengths. We are always happy to talk through a child's needs before any referral is made.
